I recently had the pleasure of checking out the Central Saint Martins Graduate collections, in particular the Jewellery Design, and as expected the standard did not disappoint.
Amongst a vibrant array of great signature collections, one which particularly stood out to me was undoubtedly 'About the Man Who Loved Fishing', the final collection of Kasia Piechocka, an up-and-coming designer whose irresistible, distinctive style and mass appeal are already gaining recognition from the fashion jewellery community and beyond :)
The 'About the Man Who Loved Fishing' collection certainly has us hooked, for its refreshingly appealing concept as much as its clean lines and faultless craftsmanship. Created from a range of modern materials the designer has succeeded in revolutionizing our ideas about fishing, bringing this dadly past-time bang up to date for the discerning 21st century jewellery enthusiast.
It is this successful transformation of unconventional subjects, in tandem with her superb technical skill and material choice, which makes Kasia's work stand out so much.
A designer from whom we are already seeing great things, Kasia has previously won accolades like the Marmalade Jewellery Award, and has collaborated with menswear designer Nicomede Talavera, undoubtedly broadening her range of experience and potential for the future :)
We just can't wait to see what she comes up with next!
